New Moon: Feb 2026 - Allowing FLow

The New Moon asks: “Can you allow movement without abandoning your foundation?”

New Moon - February 17th, 2026

Between February 1st and February 17th, you move through the waning cycle invites release, integration, and quiet pruning. The New Moon then marks a reset.

*New Year Energy - Evolving*

This ritual is for:

-Allowing emotional movement without overwhelm

-Releasing rigidity formed during endurance

-Practicing flexibility while remaining grounded

-Softening control without losing stability

-Introducing flow in a regulated and sustainable way

This work does not center on dramatic release or emotional intensity. It does not ask you to dissolve structure or abandon discipline. It does not require sudden clarity or visible progress. Flow is not chaos. Softening is not collapse.

This work begins in the body, where sensation replaces force and awareness replaces control. It asks whether you can move gently after holding firmly. It invites flexibility that does not destabilize what you have built.

The New Moon holds darkness quietly. It does not illuminate outcomes. It supports beginnings that form unseen. Movement under this Moon is subtle and internal, like thawing ground beneath winter soil.

The New Moon: Grounded on a Firm Foundation

The New Moon arrives near the close of Capricorn season, a time associated with structure, ambition, and long-term building. While Capricorn energy often emphasizes discipline and forward planning, this ritual honors something quieter beneath that surface.

Ambition without grounding exhausts the nervous system. Structure without flexibility becomes rigidity. The New Moon in this season reminds us that sustainable growth requires both containment and flow. Nothing built in winter needs to be dismantled for spring to arrive.

The Root Chakra remains active as the container. It provides safety and stability. From that base, the Sacral Chakra begins to stir… introducing movement, fluidity, and emotional awareness. This phase is not about building outward. It is about allowing internal movement within a stable frame.

Where the Snow Moon emphasized endurance, this New Moon emphasizes softening. Where winter required preservation, this phase invites gentle thaw.

The foundation remains intact. What changes is how freely energy moves within it.

Grounding Practices Under the New Moon…

Movement under this Moon is fluid but measured. The intention is not intensity. It is responsiveness.

Environmental Grounding

Notice the space around you. Darkness may feel less intimidating now. Let your eyes soften. Let your body feel supported by the room.

Allow stillness first. Movement comes after steadiness.

Movement: Introducing Fluidity

Movement focuses on the hips, lower back, and pelvis… areas connected with both Root and Sacral energy.

If you move:

  • allow slow, circular motions

  • shift weight gently from side to side

  • explore transitions rather than held poses

  • let the body choose its rhythm

There is no choreography. Movement should feel like water finding its path.

If stillness feels right, remain still. Flow can also occur internally through breath and awareness.

Breathwork: Regulation with Soft Expansion

Breath remains steady and supportive.

Inhale through the nose without force. Exhale slowly, allowing the belly and lower body to soften.

Let the breath reach lower than it did during Snow Moon containment. Allow warmth to spread through the pelvis and hips.

The breath does not push for release. It invites gentle expansion.

Energy Awareness: Flow Within Containment

Notice sensations in the lower abdomen and pelvis. There may be subtle warmth, tingling, or a sense of movement.

Sacral awareness does not require visualization. It is felt through shifts in mood, fluidity in posture, or softened emotional response.

Root remains the anchor. Sacral introduces motion within it. Energy here is observed, not manipulated.

Tactile Anchors: Fluid Support

Under this New Moon, tactile anchors may feel lighter than during the Snow Moon. You may choose:

  • a smooth stone that feels cool in the hand

  • a bowl of water nearby

  • a warm cloth placed across the lower abdomen

  • gentle contact with the hips or lower belly

Anchors are used to remind the body that movement can occur safely. They support transition without triggering urgency.

Return attention to texture and temperature whenever the mind seeks control.

Journaling: Flexibility and Trust

Reflect without urgency. Consider:

  • Where have I been holding too tightly?

  • What is ready to soften without falling apart?

  • How can I allow movement without abandoning structure?

  • What emotions have I contained that are ready to be acknowledged gently?

  • What would sustainable progress feel like instead of pressured growth?

Flow does not mean immediate action. It means internal permission.

Affirmations

Affirmations are anchors, not commands. Speak them only if they feel true enough to hold.

  • I allow movement without losing stability.

  • I trust the rhythm of my body.

  • Flexibility strengthens what is already grounded.

  • I move forward gently and sustainably.

  • Flow does not threaten my foundation.

Integration & Carrying This Forward

Integration under this New Moon looks like subtle adjustment.

Softer responses. More patience with emotional shifts. Less bracing against change.

Root stability continues, but rigidity softens.

Sacral energy introduces responsiveness. You may notice increased creativity, emotional awareness, or a desire for small changes in routine. Allow these shifts without forcing them into immediate action. What begins forming now may not be visible for weeks.

Trust is built when movement feels safe enough to continue.

Closing the Practice

As this New Moon rests in darkness, allow yourself to remain steady without needing proof that anything is happening. You are not required to accelerate simply because the year has begun. You are not behind.

Let the body register safety first. Let flow arise naturally from grounded presence. Not everything meant to grow announces itself loudly. Some foundations deepen quietly. Some movement begins beneath the surface.

We continue to build slowly.

A Grounded Reminder: Flexibility does not weaken a strong foundation. It allows it to last.
